Undercover agent thriller

Author – Marti Waltheim

Present day Texas

Texas is burning. An unknown terrorist group mounts a brutal attack on a peaceful El Paso suburb. They demand the return of texas to its rightful owners. The presidents message is uncompromising; no negotiations; the hostages must be retuned unharmed; every available resource must be used to eliminate the threat. Connor Murray and his small team of DEA agents operating under deep cover in Mexico are conscripted into the task team. They may have the means to infiltrate a cell. Agent Ruiz Ortega and his side-kick Francesco Flores must penetrate to the highest levels to expose the organisation. It will be a mission fraught with danger. Ruiz infiltrates and proposes a second front in their attack. He can train their operatives in political subversion.

This will allow him to locate all the cells and bases. With this information, the whole organisation can be exposed and eliminated. The organisation operates under strict secrecy rules. Each tier reports only to the one above and don’t know anyone higher up. This, and an unfriendly commander, make his task very dificult. As he climbs higher up, he gains useful allies who help him to get his message across to the fighters. Finally he meets the drug lords who fund and control the whole organisation. The military are under pressure to act without delay but Ruiz and Francesco must be extracted without being compromised.
