The Dice Are Loaded

Political intrigue novel

Author – Marti Waltheim

Southern Africa present day

A new breed of politicians is emerging in this small African state. Unfettered by dogma and untainted by corruption, they must convince the Central Committee that their economic recovery plan is the only way. Newly appointed Minister of Agriculture, Dr Enos Magwaza, must sell his Agricultural Development Plan to the President. With His support he has a chance of succeeding. Even then, it will take a lot of pressure to change the old political dogma. Funding from the Waltheim Trust has two conditions which must be met. The Wankie coal mining project in this pristine wilderness must not go ahead. Donor funds will be controlled by the trust under Richard Nyangare. He and Enos Magwaza must present the plan as their own. It will take a great deal of maneuvering to get it accepted. Even then, there will be many challenges ahead. They must overcome the weather, evict the war veterans and fight off political hi-jacking. If they succed, economic meltdown, poverty and starvation can be avoided.
