Sons of Santa Anna

Was born out of anger and dismay

It is not a novel that will appeal to the Liberal Left.

It began with a diatribe about the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel and poses many underlying questions.

Perhaps the most pertinent is whether we can condone the murder and abduction of civilians in pursuit of political objectives. Most reasonable people will agree that this will lead to chaos. Another is whether it was a publicity stunt to revive ebbing interest in their cause and prop up their declining financial situation. That it achieved both these objectives resoundingly is also a major concern.

Placing the story on America’s doorstep was deliberate. How would all those marching, protesting liberals react to a direct attack on the USA? Most of them were not even born when 911 shattered American complacency. Those who were, and remember 911, do so with a sense of just reprisal. Would they march and protest if Texas was the target? Would the vast majority of reasonable, thinking citizens condone them? I very much doubt it.
